Sports Massage


Jennifer works with elite athletes as well as weekend warriors to help maintain their ability to perform at their peak . The overall aim of treatment is to enhance the sports person's performance at whatever level the sports person has reached. The primary concern is to prevent injury by maintaining healthy muscle tissue and postural balance under the athletes training load.

 

Pre-event massage is individual depending on the athlete and how long before the event they have the massage. In general it is to prepare the muscles for the loading of the event for optimum results and injury prevention.

 

Post-massage after an event is to help recovery time for the athlete helping the body release and breakdown the muscle waste and micro tears caused through the events performance.

 

Sports massage is also to help assist the athlete through an injury and assist in correcting any dysfunction that may have been a contributing factor to the injury in the first place and ultimately regaining a full recovery.
